Since its inception, the SR Premium line has received universal acclaim from both professional players and equipment critics. The SR2600 series, made by Ibanez's Premium luthiers, features many of the same high-end embellishments as the prestigious Prestige series. The separated saddles are secured firmly to the body for optimum resonance transmission and minimum sympathetic string disturbance, and the Mono-rail 5S bridge allows for a broader tuning setting range. The adjustable saddles are the bridge's most distinctive feature, allowing for optimal string separation regardless of instrument. For this reason, the bridge was designed to accommodate a wide range of preferred string distances. The string spacing can be modified by +/-1.5mm with a simple adjustment of the saddles.

The SR2600's robust, well-balanced tone comes from its African Mahogany frame and its exquisite Poplar wood top. The 5-piece Atlas neck is constructed from Panga Panga, Maple, Paduak, Purpleheart, and Walnut, which makes for a beautiful aesthetic detail and ensures the neck will remain stable for years to come.

Despite being constructed with such a long list of exotic materials, this Premium bass remains faithful to the original SR idea by maintaining an incredibly light weight, which stands in stark contrast to the instrument's dense sound. A set of Nordstrand Large Single pickups, the kind common in niche instruments, are primarily responsible for the guitar's huge, assertive sonic personality. You can quickly and easily achieve any desired melodic tone with the Ibanez Custom 3-Band EQ, which features an EQ cutoff and a mid-frequency button.
